1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
App Usage Data (Anonymous)
By default, we track anonymous app usage using Firebase Analytics, which may include:
- Pedals you view or add
- Buttons clicked and navigation behavior
- App installation and usage metrics by city
This data does not contain personally identifiable information (PII). App tracking can be disabled via device settings.
User Accounts & Cloud Sync
When logged in, your data is synced to our cloud storage (Firebase) for cross-device access. This includes:
- Pedals
- MIDI channel assignments
- App preferences
- Private notes
- Public and private presets
- Favourites
- Users you follow
- Serial numbers of pedals
Important: No PII is collected unless you enter it yourself (e.g., in notes, usernames, or preset names). If you prefer not to sync your data, you should remain logged out.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- Syncing data across devices when logged in
- Analyzing app usage and improving app performance
- Support sharing, moderation, and access to community presets
- Aggregating anonymous statistics for display on our website
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
We do share anonymous usage data with Chase Bliss, including totals for blocked users, registered users, public/private presets, faves, and overview statistics per pedal. This same data is displayed publicly on our website.
3. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored in both the EU (Firestore EU3, Cloud Functions EU-West3) and US (Filestorage USWEST-1) regions
- Website is deployed using Vercel (IAD1, North America)
- Passwords are never stored; authentication is handled by Apple and Google
- Developers have access only to registered emails; user databases cannot be browsed directly
- Data backups follow a "point-in-time" retention policy, up to 7 days
4. Data Retention & Deletion
- Signing out keeps your cloud data intact; new data is stored locally
- Deleting a pedal removes its serial number and MIDI assignment but keeps presets and notes for future use
- Deleting a preset removes it entirely, along with private notes and faves
- User identifiers from Firebase remain unless explicitly deleted
- We can delete or anonymize all your data upon request; due to backups, full deletion may take up to 7 days
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase (data storage)
- Firebase Analytics (anonymous app usage)
- Apple Sign-In & Google Sign-In (authentication)
- Google Analytics (website usage)
- Vercel (website hosting and deployment)
These services may collect anonymous or token-based data as outlined above.
6. Your Consent
By using the app or website, you consent to this Privacy Policy. Sharing community presets or display names implies consent for that information to be stored and potentially shared publicly.
7. Privacy Policy History
For transparency, here is a history of previous privacy policy versions:
- March 13, 2026: Current version with app tracking opt-out, cloud sync details, Firebase storage, analytics, Vercel hosting, and data deletion policy.
- August 5, 2025: Previous version with basic app usage tracking, community presets, and authentication information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of our app or website indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
